Bandung & Jakarta New Year Trip : Part 2

Hello guyssss....Assalamualaikum....So let's continue with Mr.Mon's new year 2013 trip to Bandung & Jakarta...so after  3 nights in Bandung (actly the 1st nite doesnt count coz arrive from Malaysia at 11pm hehe) we finally have to leave the coolness of Bandung... Ready for Jakarta's hotness yeahhh!

So early morning on the 3rd day in Bandung we went straight to the train station after breakfast since our train leaving to Jakarta was at 8.45am...This is the train ticket pic. We took the one heading to Gambir since it's nearer to our hotel in Jakarta. It is just beside their National Monument.

Inside the train. Very comfy. Very spacious leg room and seat can be reclined almost up to 180degrees. And please be surprised that each row has 2 electrical plug to charge your phone/tab/etc! :D Cool yeah? The aircond was also working very well but no free food or drinks. Bummer. :P (kannn bayar tiket rm28 feeling2 nak makan minum free semua la! Mr.Mon Mr.Monn. :P )

We finally arrive at our hotel in jalan Sabang. This hotel is really clean and cozy and very moderately priced. Location wise is walking distance to Plaza Indonesia, Hard Rock Jakarta, and jalan Sabang, where the hotel is has many (and i mean A LOT!) eateries. (Senang sangat nak carik makan area sini. Seriously recommended sgt duk hotel ni.) Harga bilik RM140nett per nite. And if you arrive at the street in the day time, you will be surprised the empty side street turns into a heaven for street food lovers! Do try the Nasi Goreng Gila. :D

This street will turn into heaven for street hawkers foodstall lovers from satay to seafood to soto madura to fried dishes etc... Remember....Jalan Sabang. Stay here! ;)

Just after checking in the hotel we went for lunch at restaurant Kedai Tiga Nyonya. Highly Recommended! Food taste great and not that expensive. Dishes range from RP30,000 to RP100,000. From Maxone Hotel walk to the right until the end of the street then turn left and walk around 200 metres until you see the restaurant on the right....

Restaurant Kedai Tiga Nyonya is one of Indonesia's Best Restaurants. I especially love the Soto Madura which is spiced coconut cream soup cooked with chucks of beef and vege inside. Yummy! (Oh yg dlm pic atas tu kwn nye hehe. Dia kata sedap tp tak ingat apa mende nye. Korang teka2 ajela ekkk. :P)

After lunch we went to Blok M. One of the shopping musts. But I was dissapointed. After hearing so much about this place maybe I was expecting too much. The merchandise are all not to my liking. :( Never going there again.

The first night in Jakarta we hanged out at Oh La La cafe just 8min walk from the hotel. So cozy and food was nice but service was a bit slow that night. Don't know about other nights. Maybe ramai org amik cuti coz the next day was New Years Day. Hehe. Recommended to go at night. From Maxone Hotel walk to the right until end of street then turn right and walk around 100 metres on the right side and you will see Oh La La cafe on the right.

They next day we had early lunch here @ Dapur Indonesia just 2 minutes walk from hotel. From Maxone Hotel walk to the right for 100 metres and the restaurant is on your right.

My black pepper chicken @ Dapur Indonesia Restaurant. RP30,000. It tasted ok.

After lunch went to Mangga Dua. Mangga Dua shopping mall was more to my liking. They have loads of imitation leather products and also a lot of other stuff as well. Walking around here was comfortable since it was indoor. (Tak le kene mengharungi panas sambil tawar menawar kann. Hehehe)

Just before the stroke of midnight on new years eve we went to the McDonalds nearby our hotel to have dinner first and look at the queue! And it was so hot and humid! Pengsan! (budak kiri tu tak puas ati aku snap pic dia haha!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!!!!

Finally it's time to go back to Malaysia. Damnnn. Always hate that have to go back feeling. Anyway I do recommend to go to Jakarta during year end like we did since my friend who had been there a few months before said the roads during our trip were not as heavy trafficked as usual. Actually there were practically no cars at all for Jakarta standard. So I was lucky enough I did not have to endure the Jakarta traffic chaos! Phew. ;)

Well....that's all for Mr.Mon's new year trip. All in all it was a really fun trip with my close friends to celebrate 2013 with a little shopping here and there... Now Mr.Mon have to start planning for 2014 new year eve trip! Hehe. Hmmm Sydney sounds teriffic.:)
